On a freezing day in February I worked with a super team to shoot the cover of Sawubona Magazine – the inflight magazine that sits on the flagship carrier of my home country, South African Airways. This magazine is a window into the soul of South Africa showing casing this beautiful country to the world as well as the world to its passengers.
We shot March’s cover in New York with Pretty Yende, the South African born Opera Singer who has conquered the stage alongside the biggest classical music names on the globe… A true story of talent, hard work, tenacity and faith. I was privileged to spend the day with this beauty. She is beyond professional, proving that even in freezing February temperatures, as we took to the New York streets, we got the best cover shot. A professional ‘can-do’ team is everything when shooting under less-than-perfect circumstances.
